Financial Literacy

D.R.E.A.M. Bucks with MyKidsBank.org

Students will be rewarded for their milestones and accomplishments by receiving “D.R.E.A.M. Bucks”

MyKidsBank.org is an online mock banking system. We would use this system to print and disburse D.R.E.A.M. Bucks to students while teaching them math, financial literacy, and the importance of giving back.

The system also allows for instructors to appoint student tellers that could earn extra D.R.E.A.M. Bucks as income. There are many ways students could earn D.R.E.A.M. Bucks aside from completing assignments:

D.R.E.A.M. Store

We will have a D.R.E.A.M. Store where students will be able to purchase items for themselves and items to be kind to others. This piece could be used in helping older students understand savings to start a business or buying a car or home, as well as organizing and implementing a budget.

Volunteer

Each volunteer will be eligible to have automatic enrollment (must meet requirements) into our C.A.R.E. Program that assists college students who are leaving home to attend college at a full time status with a year's supply of personal hygiene products, school supplies, dorm room and apartment essentials, as well as bedding and linens. If a volunteer has a 3.5 GPA and meets the requirements to be enrolled into the C.A.R.E. Program their volunteer hours will qualify them for a free laptop or up to $600 reimbursement towards a laptop they purchase for college.
